My girlfriend was so thrilled when she discovered that we were going to have a baby, but it didn’t take too long for the novelty to wear off. Of course there never came a time when she regretted what was happening to us, it was just that she had to go through so many different changes herself, and nobody could experience that but her. She had to cope with morning sickness throughout the day, a changing body, changing hormones which meant mood swings that she couldn’t understand, and which she constantly worried would drive a wedge between us. On top of this she had an ever increasing weight to carry around which simply put, was heavy!
In reality there was little I could do to help her, but when we were just starting to near the end, when she was about 24 weeks pregnant, she came home in a real state. She thought that she looked terrible and couldn’t understand where her ‘beautiful glow’, was! I thought she looked fine but of course I knew that her hormones were all over the place. There wasn’t anything I could do to change things for her, but I decided then that I could try my hardest to cheer her up! From that moment on in the pregnancy not a thing would bother me. I was determined to be a constant source of positivity, and lo and behold, it began to rub off!
The last couple of months were the best part of the pregnancy, and by the time our beautiful daughter came along, we were so excited we could have burst!
